I worked for 36 years in the chemical industry as a chemist. Started out in St. Louis with Mallinckrodt Chemical Works. Also spent one year in the Orlando area at a Carbon14 lab they owned there. Quit in 1970 and moved to Holland, Michigan working in a chemical development lab for Parke-Davis which soon became Warner-Lambert. Got married two months after moving to Michigan. Spent about half of my career there doing process development work on pharmaceuticals. The last half of my time there was spent testing process solutions for thermal stability. I used to love blowing things up when I lived in Pueblo and then I got paid to do the same kind of thing. When the stock market escalated in the late 90's I decided to take an early retirement in 2000. My wife Jane and I have been wintering in southwestern Florida (Englewood-Venice area) but continue to live most of the year in Holland, Michigan. We have two sons, one in marketing in the Holland area and one is an attorney in Denver. We volunteer at local humane societies, doing all sorts of odd jobs and do a little bit of short trip cruising on my new motorcycle.
