MRS. PRICE DIES HERE SUDDENLY
Superintendent of County Tubercular Hospital Succumbs to Asthma
Mrs. Mabel Price, superintendent of county tubercular hospital, died suddenly at 4:15 o'clock yesterday morning at the Hotel Dieu. She was stricken Monday night with acute asthma
and removed to the hospital where her condition did not improve.
Funeral services will be held at 10 o'clock tomorrow morning at the Westminister Presbyterian church, with the reverend H.J. McGhee, pastor of the second Presbyterian church officiating. Burial will
be in Magnolia cemetery under the direction of Pipkin and Brulin company.
Active pallbearers will be Charles Stroevck, Dr. J.M. Gorber, E.L Boykin, James L Keith, H.B. Funchess and Dr. H.E. Alexander, and honorary Dr. Samuel Rosinger, M.G. Thames, Miss E. Walker of Port
Arthur, Henry C. Langham, W.W. Norvell, all members of the tubercular hospital staff, and all members of the county commissioners court.
Mrs. Price was widely known in Beaumont for her humanitarian work. Her latest activity was in the establishment of the tubercular hospital about three years ago and in efforts as its head to improve
its conditions and make it comfortable for patients.
She was born 41 years ago today in Schenectady, N. Y., but made her home in Beaumont for another of years. She was the widow of Dr. J.S. Price, one of Beaumont's most noted surgeons and general
practioners, who died here nine years ago.
Mrs. Price is survived by two sons, James S. Price of the United States Navy, and John E. Price, Beaumont high hchool student: her mother, Mrs. John Hasbrouck of New York, two brothers, John and Fred
Hasbrouck, also of New York, and sister Miss Ruth Mason Hasbrouck of Rensler, N. Y. and Mrs. Edna Greeg, niece of the late Dr. Price resides in Beaumont.
A wire was directed yesterday morning to the elder son, aboard the naval destroyer Hopkins in care of the Navy Department, but it is not believed that he will be able to reach Beaumont for the
funeral. Mrs. W. E. Little of Albuquerque, N. M. will arrive here to attend the service.
